Senior Superintendent Cheung Hoi-yan and Chief Inspector Wong Wai-chi of the Efficiency Studies Bureau of the Service Quality Wing attended the INTERPOL Strategic Talks (STRATalks) 2018 on September 4 and 5 at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation in Singapore.

The themes of the STRATalks 2018 were "Exploring the Changing Global Operating Environment" and "The Future of Global, Regional, National and Local Policing". Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Director of the INTERPOL Innovation Centre Anita Hazenberg said, "We need to anticipate the changing future to guarantee that INTERPOL and all member countries and regions are ahead, and articulate shared strategies to meet the challenges locally, nationally, regionally and globally."

STRATalks provided an annual platform for strategy experts and academics from law enforcement authorities worldwide to consider developing a holistic strategy for international and local policing. It called on members to shift the focus from the daily policing model to anticipating future crime patterns, understanding emerging trends and exploring new development opportunities.
