The Administration Wing of New Territories South (NTS) Region held a sharing session on September 12 about lessons learnt from internal audits conducted on formations/units in NTS Region. Fifty-seven management officers from formations in NTS attended the session.

Delivering opening remarks at the session, NTS Deputy Regional Commander Kwan Chui-ching outlined measures to improve performance following the internal audits. She pointed out the importance of explaining relevant requirements to officers concerned. She also stressed the need of implementing measures to prevent recurrence of similar mistakes, adding that supervisors should closely monitor the audit work. Before an internal audit is conducted by the Internal Audit Division of Police Headquarters, the formations/units should first review the relevant areas of work in a bid to achieve better audit results.

Senior Executive Officer of NTS Region Mr Danny Sung briefed the participants on lessons learnt from high-risk and common mistakes in recent internal audit reports of the Region. In addition, Executive Officer of Airport District Ms Miranda Ho shared the experience of conducting a pre-inspection before the commencement of an internal audit. The participants also shared the measures taken by their formations/units on ensuring relevant work would meet the respective requirements. Before the session came to a close, Mr Sung encouraged the participants to implement appropriate measures, including a pre-inspection, so as to enhance the performance of their formations/units in relevant areas of work.
