Central District (CDIST) collaborated with the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) and the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) to hold a "Scam Prevention and Cyber Information Security Seminar for Corporate Sector" at the Police Headquarters on September 12. The seminar aimed at enhancing the practitioners' awareness of preventing online fraud and raising their alertness to cyber security.

About 150 participants, including representatives of the Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee, over 20 chambers of commerce and small and medium-sized enterprises, attended the seminar. Officers of the CSTCB and the ADCC advised them of the modus operandi of online scammers, and ways to avoid fraud and handle a suspected fraud. They also used cases for illustration.

The participants said the seminar revealed the tactics used by swindlers, adding that the case sharing was informative. This helped the enterprises improve their management standards and arouse their staff members' awareness of deception. They would disseminate the message to their colleagues and friends in an attempt to combat deception with the Police.
