At the invitation of Harmony House, a representative of the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) attended an online forum on the well-being of male victims of domestic violence on June 24.

The forum was held under Project HE@T implemented by Harmony House. The project aims at providing support services to males who are in the face of domestic violence. Guest speakers of the forum included representatives from legal, healthcare and social welfare sectors, university academics and a police representative.

In the forum, Senior Inspector Tam Yik-wun of FCSV shared with more than 110 participants, mainly medical staff and social workers, the experience and the Force’s procedures in handling domestic violence cases and pertinent referral services.

The forum offered a platform for the Force to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening the protection on victims as well as its professionalism in handling domestic violence cases. Overwhelming responses were received during the question and answer session.

FCSV earlier conducted a holistic review on the all-in-one domestic violence booklet. Copies of the revised booklet, with more information on support services for male victims, were distributed to frontline officers in May.
