On March 4, the Information Systems Wing (ISW) launched new features on the Third Generation Duty Scheduler (DS3) for 204 Secondary and Extra Duties units to maintain accurate duty records and to expedite administrative work such as processing time-off (TO) and Disciplined Services Overtime Allowance (DSOA) claims.

Chief Inspector of Major Systems Division of ISW, Yung Kwing-kwan highlighted that, “In the past, frontline and secondary units had difficulties in managing their secondment duty records. Now with the launch of new features, not only frontline officers can readily view their turn-out record, but officers can also inspect their duty records on DS3 Self-Services via POINT from Home or Force Smart Devices, which echoes with the Force’s policy of ‘Smart Policing’”.

Station Sergeant Kwok, who was on secondment to the Police Paramedics Team, welcomed the new features, “TO and DSOA of the officers on loan can be directly endorsed and reviewed on the system by commanders of their secondary units, while those records can also be viewed by their home teams.”

Police Constable Lee of the C Departments’ Composite Company, who was responsible for duty scheduling also found the new features very useful. With three simple steps, officers can now manage the scheduling of duty records more efficiently. Officers who were deployed to anti-epidemic operations also agreed that the new features could expedite the processing of administrative work.
