HKI Regional Integrity Management Committee organised the 4-Panel Comic Drawing Competition on “Lust” between June and September to enhance the officers’ awareness and commitment to integrity and prevent them from falling to pitfalls of lust. The competition was well received with almost 40 entries. Based on the design, contents and originality of the entries, the panel selected the champion, first runners-up, second runners-up and merit prizes. The newly created Popularity Award allowed officers to cast a vote for their favourite entry online. The championship was awarded to Investigation and Support of Traffic HKI, the first runners-up and second runners-up and Popularity Award were awarded to Patrol Sub-unit 4 Central District (CDIST) and the two merit prizes went to Regional Crime Prevention Office HKI.
This is the eleventh year to organise the HKI Region Best DIT Award to compliment the District Investigation Teams (DITs) for their exceptional work performance in the previous year. DIT 7 CDIST, DIT 3 Western District and DIT 6 Wan Chai District are the awardees of the year respectively, and the winner of HKI Region Best DIT and Detective Shield of the year is DIT 8 Eastern District (EDIST). Inspector Man Tsz-wing, officer-in-charge of DIT 8 EDIST, cited a robbery case that occurred at a staircase involving a school girl victim as the most unforgettable case he had handled. The girl lost control of her emotion and felt scared and panicked after being robbed. The officer proactively arranged to comfort the victim and calm her down for cooperation with the police, resulting in successful arrest of the robber.
