To enhance anti-deception awareness among youths and the elderly, Shatin District (STDIST) organised an anti-deception themed sports meet named “Running SHARK” at Police Officers' Club on November 6. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Director of Operations Chan Joon-sun, Regional Commander of New Territories South (NTS) Mak Chin-ho, Deputy Regional Commander of NTS Sit Ka-ho, District Commander of STDIST Leung Tsz-kin, Chairman of STDIST Fight Crime Committee Mr Deng Kai-rong, Vice Chairman of STDIST Senior Police Call (SPC) Honorary Presidents Council Mr Lui Hing-yeung, Vice Chairman of STDIST Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents Council Mr Lau Tik-hong and four local elite athletes, namely Mr Wu Siu-hong, Ms Yip Pui-yin, Mr Chiu Chi-kam and Ms Mok Uen-ying, officiated at the sports meet.

Teams formed by SPC and JPC participated in various athletic contests where they had to utilise different anti-deception themed function cards to compete for championship. The organiser even purposely infiltrated “scammers” into the teams to steal points from other teams by completing assigned tasks. The game arrangement aimed at reminding participants to be mindful of scammers.

To help disseminate anti-deception information, the four elite athletes also featured respectively in promotional videos on anti-deception, including episodes about online romance scam, investment fraud, employment fraud and naked chat scam. The videos were premiered at the event and uploaded to the social media platforms of STDIST. They would later be played in Hong Kong Sport Institute and different places in the district.
