Personnel Services and Staff Relations Branch (PS&SR) held PHM Carnival 2022 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on November 13. The event attracted a record high of 14 000 participants including regular and auxiliary police officers, civilian officers and their family members. 30 sports clubs and 18 arts clubs set up game stalls and gave live entertainment performances and sports demonstrations. The fun-filled Carnival also featured various e-sports games, a painting exhibition, Police Singing Contest Final, and a police dog training demonstration. Free Chinese medication consultation services were available and information was disseminated to enhance the participants’ understanding and awareness of long COVID. Promotion booths were set up by Psychological Services Group, Welfare Services Group and Staff Relations Group to convey messages of positive emotions, good parent-child relationship and healthy financial management respectively. Participants who took part in the activities at the booths were given souvenirs.


Another highlight of the day was the Annual Force Colours Awards Presentation Ceremony. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and senior officers were present to show their support. 25 officers were awarded the Annual Force Colours Award for Sports while 10 officers were presented with the Award for Arts for their excellence and contribution. Police Bodybuilding and Powerlifting Club’s member Mr Wu was awarded the Watson Cup as the Outstanding Athlete of the Year. PS&SR also presented seven Fitness Training Room Management Excellence Awards. Traffic Kowloon West won the Gold Award, while New Territories North Regional Headquarters and Yau Ma Tei Division won the Silver Award and the Bronze Award respectively. New Territories South Regional Headquarters, Marine Regional Headquarters, Central District, Kowloon East Regional Headquarters and Operational Base cum Ngau Tau Kok Divisional Police Station received the Merit Award. Auxiliary police officer Miss Cheng, a member of Hong Kong Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, was invited to give a performance of rhythmic gymnastics.
