On January 15, youngsters from Operation Breakthrough participated in the “Hopes Runner 2023”, a charity run organised by the Haven of Hope Christian Service, to raise funds for the underprivileged, elderly and handicapped. Two teams from Operation Breakthrough participated in the 3-km run. Police volunteers led the youngsters and encouraged them to undertake relevant social responsibilities. One of the teams came third and a member was the second runners-up of the Overall Female Runner Prize.

Operation Breakthrough held boxing training sessions, too. The Executive Director cum Regional Commander of Marine David Jordan exchanged with the trainees and presented prizes to them on December 14, 2022. The police volunteers briefed the youth-at-risk on the sport rules and taught them the importance of teamwork, discipline and commitment. The events enabled the youngsters to train up their fitness through interacting with serving police officers.

Officers who would like to join the volunteers may contact the Executive Director at djordan@police.gov.hk or the Treasurer at kityuen@police.gov.hk. For more information, please visit https://www.breakthrough.hk.
