The opening ceremony of the New Generation Report Room (RR) at the Sheung Shui Police Station was officiated by Regional Commander of New Territories North (RC NTN) Lam Man-han on August 26. RC NTN was accompanied by District Commander of Tai Po District Kong Wing-cheung to tour the facilities of the new RR.
The new RR has incorporated various modern technologies. Key upgrades include a CCTV monitoring system behind the RR, a designated area for handling detainee’s belongings, a padded temporary holding area, and dedicated interview rooms for vulnerable witnesses or victims. Besides, a self-service kiosk, an electronic queuing system, assistive devices for the hearing-impaired and semi-enclosed reporting booths have also been provided at the reception counter to enhance police operations and promote smart policing.
