Fun run goes down a storm

And they're off: A stream of runners brave typhoon conditions to take part in the CAPO Fun Run
THE threat of squally weather did little to blow-out the enthusiasm for the annual Complaints Against Police Office Fun Run held on April 30.

Despite blustery conditions and the hoisting of the number 1 typhoon signal, about 300 turned out for the eight-kilometre event around the scenic Shing Mun Reservoir paths.

Promoting the Police Healthy Lifestyle Campaign, the run also featured a three-kilometre Fun Walk, for Complaints and Internal Investigation Branch staff.

Director of Operations Dick Lee Ming-kwai, Assistant Police Commander/Service Quality H.M. Blud and Chief Superintendent C & IIB Stephen Chandler presented prizes to the huge turnout of winners.

They included: Senior Superintendent Lui Kam-ho of CAPO Hong Kong Island who won the C&IIB Men's Individual (Open), while Woman Police Constable Wong Yuet-chi took out the Women's Individual; Police Constable Wong Wing-kuen of Airport District won the Guest Men's Individual (Open), with PC Lee Lai-cheung of Lantau District taking the Guest Men's Individual (Senior); WPC Chung Pui-shan of North Kowloon Court won the Guest Women's Individual, and Station Sergeant Li Ying-wai of CAPO Kowloon walked away with the C&IIB Men's Individual (Senior).
