Next stop, Sha Tin

A campaign to prevent burglary, robbery and vehicle-related crimes was launched in Fo Tan on July 4, jointly organised by Sha Tin Division and the Sha Tin Industries and Commerce Association.

ST Divisional Commander Helen Kwong Chen-mee and Sha Tin District Council members officiated at the event which saw over 600 people visit the Crime Prevention Bureau bus while officers distributed leaflets and souvenirs.

Association representatives also presented a certificate of compliments to ST Divisional Investigation Team Two officers for their excellent work in arresting two culprits who used false identity card information to apply for a credit card in May.

Officers launched an extensive investigation into the May 2 report, and after one of the suspects instructed a bank to deliver the newly-issued card to an address in Sai Yeung Choi Street on May 15, officers laid ambush and arrested him.

The second man, believed to be the mastermind, was arrested soon after.
