The Police Volleyball Club held two annual external competitions recently. The first event, Lomas Cup for men's teams from the local disciplined services, took place on June 27 at Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) when Fire Services Department, Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Immigration Department and two police teams vied for the cup.
 
Fire Services Department captured the cup and received the prize from the club's Honorary Vice-president, Dr Malcolm Lam.
 
The Felicia Cup, an annual invitation competition with local universities, was held on July 7, attracting teams from Lingnan University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIE) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as a police team. Following an intense contest, HKIE edged out the police team to capture the  cup.
 
Personnel Wing Senior Superintendent Catherine Kwan Chui-ching, Chairman of the Police Volleyball Club, presented trophies to the winners.
 
At university invitation cup event organised by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on its campus on June 23, the police women's team captured the cup while the men's team took the second runner-up place.
 
The Police Volleyball Team practises every Thursday from 7pm to 10pm at Police Sports and Recreation Club.
