Fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 65-year-old man was killed in Ma On Shan today (May 29).

At about 6.50 am, a maxicab driven by a 56-year-old man was travelling along Sui Cheung Street towards the Science Park, while a 65-year-old man was cycling in the same direction. Upon reaching near Ma Liu Shui Ferry Pier, the cyclist turned right to a bicycle track and was reportedly knocked down by the maxicab.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the 65-year-old man was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 1.40 pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
