Special traffic arrangements for celebration parade in Shau Kei Wan on National Day

Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements in Shau Kei Wan on October 1 to facilitate a parade to celebrate the National Day.

The parade will be held in Shau Kei Wan between 9 am and 5 pm.

To facilitate the public to watch the parade, arrangements including road closures, traffic diversions and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented.

The following arrangements will be implemented from 7 am until 5.30 pm:

Road Closures
-------------

(a) A section of Factory Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street;

(b) The westbound leftmost lane of Factory Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Tai Tak Street;

(c) Wang Wa Street;

(d) A section of Kam Wa Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street;

(e) A section of Shau Kei Wan Main Street East between Kam Wa Street and Tung Hei Road;

(f) A section of eastbound Oi Lai Street between Oi Yin Street and Tung Hei Road;

(g) Basel Road; and

(h) A section of northbound Oi Yin Street between Aldrich Bay Road and Oi Lai Street.

Traffic Diversions
------------------

(a) Vehicles travelling on northbound Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and eastbound Factory Street will be prohibited to enter Wang Wa Street;

(b) Vehicles travelling on southbound Tung Hei Road will be prohibited to turn left onto Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and must turn right onto Oi Lai Street;

(c) Vehicles travelling on eastbound Oi Kan Road must go straight to southbound Oi Yin Street;

(d) Vehicles coming out from the carpark of Aldrich Garden must turn left onto westbound Oi Lai Street; and

(e) The traffic along westbound Aldrich Bay Road heading for Oi Yin Street will be prohibited.

Suspension of Metered Parking Spaces
------------------------------------

(a) All metered parking spaces at Kam Wa Street between Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Wang Wa Street; and

(b) All metered parking spaces at Wang Wa Street.

Suspension of Motorcycle Parking Spaces
----------------------------------------

(a) All motorcycle parking spaces at Wang Wa Street.

F. Suspension of carparks
--------------------------

During the road closure period, vehicles parked in various car parks within the closed areas will not be permitted to leave until the roads are re-opened for traffic, except for emergency purposes.

Drivers are urged to take heed of traffic signs and the direction of Traffic Police at the scene.
