With effect from 11 March 2024, the prescribed fees for Sexual Conviction Record Check new application and renewal application will be adjusted to HK$140 and HK$93 per person respectively.
The new Online Booking System (OBS) has been launched! Members of the public can book an appointment for the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) new or renewal applications through smartphones, computers or tablets. Also, applicants can receive SMS or Email acknowledgement and reminder, aiming to alert them to attend the office in person for application submission at the appointment date and time. With effect from 1 June 2017, renewal applications for checking code with expiry date from 1 June 2017 onwards would be extended for another 18 months counting from the original expiry date.
If applicants would like to renew the validity period of the checking code, please make an advance booking through the OBS ( https://www.obs.police.gov.hk/en ) or Auto-Telephone Answering System (ATAS) (Tel.: 3660 7499) within the last three months of the validity period. The available appointment date is any working day within the last three months of the validity period. Applicants should then bring along with them Hong Kong Identity Card to attend the Sexual Conviction Record Check Office in person on the day of appointment to submit a request for renewal and pay the prescribed renewal fee.
After renewal, the validity period will be extended for another 18 months. Applicants or the persons authorised by the applicants will be able to access the check result using the original checking code during the renewal period. Please note that if the checking code has expired, we could not process the request for renewal and applicants have to submit a fresh application for the checking.
