Probationary Inspector CRE Express
To facilitate candidates taking the CRE on September 27 and following the introduction of the "Probationary Inspector DSE 4+ Express" on July 1 this year, the Recruitment Division will, for the first time, be launching the "Probationary Inspector CRE Express".
Candidates registered for the CRE on 2025-09-27, who meet the eligibility requirements for the position of Probationary Inspector (PI) (see below for eligibility) can apply via this Express to take part in the exclusive PI Written Exam sessions.
Qualified candidates may choose to take the PI written exam on designated dates and can be exempted from certain papers with their CRE results. If candidates obtained Level 4 or above in both Chinese Language and English Language subjects in the HKDSEE, and achieve a pass in the CRE Aptitude Test, they may gain direct access to the Extended Interview stage, significantly expediting the selection process.

(Remarks : Those who have passed the Aptitude Test of the CRE and obtained Level 4 or above in Chinese Language and English Language subjects in the HKDSEE, or equivalent, will be deemed to have passed the PI Written Exam, and gain direct access to the Extended Interview.)
