The Government had proposed in early November to consult the public on requiring motorists to switch off vehicles engines while idling. Speaking at Legco's Environmental Affairs Panel meeting this week, some legislators hit out at the Government for not consulting the transport sector on details of the proposal to ban idling vehicles engines before it was put forward for public consultation. They also expressed worries that the Administration might have to give way and alter the policy because of the strong opposition.
