HONG KONG POLICE and their counterpart rivals from the Macau Public Security Police both proved to be victorious champions with the Hong Kong team winning two of the five sporting events and the Macau Police winning the other two. Both sides came to a draw in the 11-a-side soccer match.

Almost 180 officials and players from both sides took part in the annual sports event, this year hosted by the Force at the PSRC on December 6 and 7.

The events kicked off on the afternoon of December 6 with the table tennis competition where the Hong Kong team defeated their Macanese opponents four games to two.

The five-a-side soccer matches proved more decisive, with Hong Kong beating its Macau counterparts 6 -3 in an exciting and action-packed encounter.

The next day in the shooting competition, Macau dominated with its marksmen scoring 1,163 points to squeak past the home side's 1,155. The Macau Force also won the ladies' volleyball competition.

The event ended in a friendly tug of war where the Hong Kong Police 10-man team strong-armed the Macanese lawmen past the centre line on the PSRC rugby pitch.

The Macau delegation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Lieutenant Colonel, Manuel Antonio M de Carvalho.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Wong Tsan-kwong, played host to the two-day sporting event.
