請問以下句子正確嗎？

• The accident was occurred 3 months ago
  意外在三個月前發生

不正確。它錯用了被動式。

因為 Occur 不接賓語 (object)，所以不能用被動式 (passive) 例如：

• 這一事件是甚麼時候發生的？
  不是When was the incident occurred?
  而是When did the incident occur?

另一正確例子：

• 許多意外死亡在家裡發生
  Many accidental deaths occur at home.

至於意思跟Occur 一樣的 Happen 也不可以用被動式。例如：

• 意外是在他工作時發生的
  The accident happened while he was at work.

• 今天，家裡發生了有趣的事
  Funny things happened at home today.

容易產生類似錯誤的其他常用動詞還有 Appear/Disappear、 Belong、 Depend 和 Arrive 等等。

總之was appeared/disappeared, was belonged, was depended 和 was arrived 都是錯的。
