Assistant Commissioner (AC) Cheuk Hau-yip has succeeded AC Lui Hon-kwok as the Chairman of the Police Sports Council (PSC) as Mr Lui has proceeded on pre-retirement leave. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung presented a letter of appointment to Mr Cheuk and a letter of appreciation to Mr Lui on December 28, 2017.


During the tenure of Mr Lui as a member of the PSC since 2007 and as the Chairman from November 2015 to December 2017, the number and nature of activities of various sports clubs of the Force prospered under the Integrated Approach to Physical Fitness and Health Management. Moreover, the PSC started to engage students via sports. With Mr Lui's support, the Force participated in the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) 2015 in Fairfax, Virginia, and the WPFG 2017 in Los Angeles, California, and excelled with a remarkable record of 203 medals last year.


Mr Cheuk served as the Vice-Chairman of PSC from November 2015 to December 2017. Under the leadership of Mr Cheuk as the Chairman of the Force's Organising Committee for the WPFG 2017, an unprecedented delegation of 304 Force athletes participated in the event in Los Angeles and reaped impressive successes.
