Dialogue in the Dark

A training video of Living-the-Values Wave IX Workshop - Dialogue in the Dark, co-produced by the Service Quality Wing and the Police College, won the Bronze Award in the "Corporations - Internal Communication" Category. The video shows the Force's values of Fairness, Impartiality and Compassion in all its dealings. It tells the story of four strangers meeting for the first time in a complete blackout room. Each of them was asked to judge the others based solely by their conversation and not by their appearance. It aims to inspire the audience to re-think how they judge people, and whether they have any prejudice or bias against others.

PNC's Suicide Prevention Video

With the theme of "Take a Minute, Change a Life", the video won the Silver Award in the "Corporations - In-House Production" Category. It portrays a middle-aged man who was prepared to commit suicide because of financial difficulties. When he looked back at his life, he realised that there were treasurable things and people. The most critical period in crisis negotiation is the very last minute - if someone is willing to intervene a minute earlier, there is always a chance to save a person from attempting suicide. Suicide prevention is not solely the responsibility of police negotiators but that everyone can help to prevent suicide.
