The Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) invited Head of the French Police Liaison Office in Hong Kong and Macao Mr Christian Baron to give a sharing session, entitled "Characteristics of scam cases in France and the trend of money laundering by Asian syndicates in Europe", on June 7. The event, which aimed at enhancing officers' professional knowledge and investigative capabilities, attracted more than 50 participants from CCB.

Mr Baron is an experienced investigator of international organised crime and commercial crime. He has been posted overseas for undertaking police liaison work and cross-boundary criminal investigation for over 12 years, and has been assisting Asian law enforcement authorities in fighting organised crime, commercial crime and money laundering. He assumed his current post in Hong Kong in 2014, and is responsible for facilitating bilateral and multilateral co-operation in these fields.

Mr Baron delivered an informative and thought-provoking talk to CCB officers, giving insight into criminal investigation and international police co-operation.
