Kwun Tong District Council members Messrs Mok Kin-shing, Choy Chak-hung, So Kon-chung and Wong Chi-ken, together with members of some mutual aid committees in Sau Mau Ping, presented tapestry flags to Assistant Commander (Crime) of Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Daniel Dungey, Chief Inspector (Crime) Leung Lap and Officer-in-charge of District Crime Squad 2 (DCS 2) Cheung Hoi-yee on June 6 for their efforts in fighting crime.

In an intelligence-led operation codenamed "SKYBOOM" on April 3, DCS 2 neutralised an unlawful debt collection syndicate in San Po Kong and arrested nine suspects, some of whom with a triad background. The syndicate has been involved in at least 10 unlawful debt-collecting cases since late 2016. Two suspects have been charged while the rest are on bail pending further enquiries.

To enhance the vigilance of security guards in public and private housing estates in SMPDIST, officers send letters regularly to management offices of buildings with the highest figures of debt collecting activities. In addition, a 24-hour SMPDIST hotline has been set up for frontline security personnel to report suspicious persons. Outstanding security guards would also be commended.
