FOR 60 Junior Police Call members, training
began as soon as they arrived at Whampoa Youth Army Academy in Guangzhou where they
were issued military fatigues and gear and inducted into the five-day military-style camp's
training programme.
The invigorating outing, which was jointly organised by Yau Tsim and Wong Tai Sin Police Community Relations Offices, saw the JPC boys and girls undergo a regimen of rigorous physical fitness training, march instruction, and talks that concentrated on Chinese military theory and history. |

Participants were required to pass a field exercise test which included such physically challenging feats as climbing over high walls and traversing through rope nets. Following their graduation ceremony, the majority of JPC members felt that despite the difficulties encountered, their determination to over-come the many physical and personal challenges presented by the training remained resolute. |
