Lee Estate Area Committee chairman Lau Hon-man and Kwun Tong Provisional District Board
members presented souvenir pennants to District Commander Sau Mau Ping Au Yiu-kwan and
his officers during a ceremony held at the Sau Mau Ping Police Station Officers' Mess on May 12.
They were commended for the arrest of a man on April 25 in connection with a series of lift robberies. After a detailed investigation officers found the man was involved in similar crimes in Shun Lee and Sau Mau Ping Estates in March and April. The man was subsequently charged. |
FOUR
officers have received long service medals with seven others getting promotion letters.
Commissioner of Police Eddie Hui presented Hong Kong Police Long Service Medals to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Internation Systems) P.E. Halliday (with 1st and 2nd Clasps), Assistant Commissioner of Police (Service Qauilty) H.M. Blud (with 1st and 2nd Clasps) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operation) Cheung Chi-sum (with 1st Clasp) at Caine House on May 24. Superintendent/Quick Reaction Force/New Territories North D.A. Whyte was also presented with the Hong Kong Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Meanwhile, seven senior officers received their promotion letters from Mr Hui on May 21. |

They were all promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent.
They were SSP Moderator Ian Tse Ho-yin, Senior Bomb Disposal Officer (SBDO) Dominic Brittain, SSP Intendent sergeant Charles Mitchell, SSP NB Albert Ng Kam-wing, SSP Fraud CB Shelton Ng Sai-kuen, SSP Support MAR Mike Parker as well as SSP CCSR (Catering, Clubs, Sports and Recreation) Robin Tse Shu-chun. They took a group photo after the presentation in front of Caine House. But the happy moments had a touch of sadness as they were the last time officers could have their award and promotion photos taken outside the main entrance to Caine House. It closed on May 25 to facilitate the Police Headquarters redevelopment project. |
