A
fitness club initiated by Tin Shui Wai Divisional Commander Alan Liu and endorsed by the Yuen
Long DC will soon be established to promote healthy lifestyles.
The club will mainly consist of Force staff from Yuen Long District and Tin Shui Wai Division, and adult family members accompanied by them will also be welcome. Mr Liu said the club's aim was to better utilise facilities at its fitness centres. Through voluntary participation, qualified Force staff can be arranged to provide training and instruction to members. "Apart from encouraging more Force members to do exercise and keep fit, we hope they can apply the principles of physical training to their work, helping to reach perfection," Mr Liu said.
|
"Another aim is to purchase a group insurance policy for members so that they can enjoy the
facilities in a more protected way."
A preparatory committee chaired by Mr Liu has been formed to oversee matters concerning the formation of the club, such as membership and arranging qualified staff to provide training and equipment maintenance. Mr Liu said more than 40 membership applications had been submitted already and the committee was considering opening the fitness centre 24 hours a day so members can enjoy the facilities anytime. |
