Tributes for late SIP

Some 220 friends and colleagues of late Senior Inspector Paul O'Connor attended a remembrance service at the Union Church, Kennedy Road, on March 28.

Colleagues of all ranks from throughout Paul's Force career attended, along with his girlfriend Eileen, to pay their respects. The officers included Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Douglas Lau Yuk-kuen, one of his former commanders.

Paul was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in February on Bride's Pool Road near Sha Tau Kok.

The upbeat service saw eulogies read by Guy Lown, Stuart Morton and Mark Duncan, who reflected on Paul's passion for riding motorcycles and flying helicopters.

The moving ceremony saw a Force piper play Amazing Grace, and Stuart Essenhigh perform the Last Post on trumpet.
