Hi-tech Eastern kids awarded

Techno troops: The awarded youths

Students from four Eastern District secondary schools won prizes and certificates from Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) Peter Halliday and Eastern District Commander Paul Hung Hak-wai, March 24, for their creative prowess.

They were among seven schools participating in the Eastern District Fight Crime Information Technology Creativity Contest in February and March, demonstrating their talent by designing hi-tech fight crime computer items such as screensavers and wallpaper.

The competition was won by the Shau Kei Wan Government East Secondary School, followed by Chong Gene Hang College, the Chinese Foundation Secondary School and HK Chinese Women's Club College. They would join Eastern District Junior Police Call members to visit some hi-tech Mainland infrastructure in July and August.

The presentation was held at North Point Police Station. Other officiating guests included HK Youth Association Chairman Chiang Yutui and Happy Valley Rotary Club President Tony Wong.
