Marine help for the handicapped

Some $20,000 raised by Marine officers for the handicapped over the Christmas period, was handed to the Home of Loving Faithfulness charity on February 23.

Marine Regional Commander Spencer Foo Tsun-kong, the Marine Police Officers' Mess Vice President, presented the cheque to the charity's representatives at a Mess lunch.

"It is always good to give and we are confident our donation will be well spent on those who are under-privileged," Mr Foo said.

He thanked all the Marine staff who so generously contributed.

The Home, based at Kwu Tung, Sheung Shui, has been caring for handicapped people since it opened in 1965. Its representatives thanked the Force for the donation, which they said, would be very useful for their current expansion programme.
