Officers pursuing job-related private study may apply for partial reimbursement of course and examination fees under the provision of CSR 1010. The arrangement was suspended in October due to the exhaustion of the Local Vocational Training Vote. With the commencement of the new financial year this month, funds are now available for the exercise.

Officers who are confirmed to be permanent establishment or have completed one tour of service may be considered under the scheme. The study however, must be directly relevant to the individual's current duties. Application for reimbursement must be submitted to Training Wing Headquarters before the course begins. Upon completion of the study, officers have to produce evidence of passing the examination or 70 per cent attendance of the course if no examination is required.

Officers can browse the application procedures of the scheme or download the application form from the homepage of Support Division, Training Wing. For details of courses available in the education institutes, officers can simply click into the hyperlinks of the Support Division homepage where first-hand course information offered by some local universities can be seen.

Training Wing endeavours to promote Life Long Learning and continuous improvement for the purpose of self-development and enhancement of professional knowledge. Officers requiring information on the training assistance available under Civil Service Regulations can contact Support Training Chief Inspector Catherine Kwan Chui-ching at 2882-7054.
