The Hand of Partnership


Then Deputy Director of the Police College Chan Man-tak led a seven-member delegation to Myanmar, one of the Belt and Road countries, in February, in a visit designed to learn about the country’s development and explore training collaboration opportunities with the Myanmar Police Force. The visit proved an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties between the two police forces.



A six-member delegation visited the French National Police in February to share their policing experience with French counterparts. The visit was effective in broadening the delegates’ international horizons and enhancing their professional capabilities. The delegation also took the opportunity to project a positive and professional image of the Force, and to strengthen partnership with French counterparts.



Then Commissioner Lo Wai-chung led a five-member delegation on a visit to the Korean National Police Agency in March. During the visit, the two parties signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding on combating transnational crime, signalling the determination of the two police forces to continue their close collaboration and partnership.



The Head of the Asia and Pacific region for the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom, Mr Mark Bishop, led a delegation on a visit to the Commercial Crime Bureau in April, as part of efforts to enhance collaboration in the fight against global fraud and commercial crime.



Deputy Commissioner (Management) Kwok Yam-shu led a Force delegation to Hohhot in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in May. There the delegation visited a mobile training team of the Force Search Unit which was conducting a course at the Inner Mongolian Police Professional College. Mr Kwok also presented certificates to Mainland trainees at the graduation ceremony of the course.



Then Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang Ping-keung led a delegation to the 25th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Tripartite Heads of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Meeting in May, an event which supported continued close co-operation and liaison among the tripartite CIDs in the fight against cross-boundary crime.
