請問Are you interested? 跟Are you interesting? 有甚麼不同呢？

一般來說，像 excited 及 exciting 這些很相似的形容詞，當我們想說出心中自己的感覺時，就要用 ed 結尾的形容詞；即是如果句子的主語是人，例如 Peter, David, Mary, he, she is/was…….或 I am/was………. 或 you, we, they are/were…..時，就要用…ed 結尾的形容詞；

當事物、事情或事件令我們有某種感覺時，就要用 ing 結尾的形容詞。

例如：

• He is excited是「他很興奮」
• The movie was exciting是「那電影很緊張刺激」

其他例子：

• She is very tired是「她很累」
• The work is very tiring是「那工作很累人」

• Peter is frightened是「彼德受驚了」
• The snake was frightening是「那尾蛇很嚇人」

• We are bored 是「我們很悶」
• The lecture was boring 是「那堂課很沉悶」

注意：

He is boring 不是「他很悶」而是「他令人覺得很沉悶」，即「他悶親人」，是「悶蛋」的意思。

因此:

• Are you interested? 是「你有興趣嗎？」
• The story is interesting是「那故事很有趣」。

至於Are you interesting?是錯的，因為它是「你有趣嗎？」。別人不知道你想說甚麼。
